Why Is There A Waitlist For Siri AI In iOS 27?

Apple's latest artificial intelligence features are so popular that users are now waiting in line just to access an upgraded Siri, marking the first time the tech giant has had to ration access to a core iPhone capability. The waitlist—unprecedented for a standard iOS feature—suggests that Apple's AI ambitions have outpaced its infrastructure, raising questions about whether the company can deliver on its promise to democratize advanced AI without creating a two-tiered iPhone experience. Industry observers say the bottleneck could undermine Apple's carefully choreographed strategy to position itself as an AI leader that actually works, not just another company experimenting at scale.
